From childhood he was fond of drawing, he graduated as “Architecture and furniture Designer” at the Policarpo Petrocchi Institute of Pistoia in 1994.
His career began in 1996 with exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
His works of 90s are characterized by sharp and angular lines and intense colours: inspiration comes from the busy world around him.
Coins, banknotes, traffic and other elements of economic society are protagonists of his first works.
Exthernal reality prevents men from being completely themselves.
No money, stairs or skyscrapers are needed, impossible to escape or support collapsing buildings.
We need love and new ideas.
The artist is looking for a new inspiration: “American Dream” (2003/2004).
During this period, Andrea’s paintings have strong colors and a clear and articulated graphic.
He wants to express his emotions and struggle; he is searching a personal point of wiew on the essence of the human beings.
The human figure gradually changes. The man is no more a puppet, he is becoming a conscious subject trying to integrate into the world.
Colours are changing, they are more soft; symboles are changing, they refer to the inner feelings of the human beings.
The human figure is more aware of himself, but anxiety and doubts still remain in the artist soul.
Let’s go back to the basics for a better comprehension.
Cells, the genetic information, full heads and lights bring vital energy and activates our mind.
Biological origins of thoughts and feelings.
The artistic path is long and tiring with many production steps.
Andrea continues his tenacious search: the puppet gradually disappears, he is becoming a man.
Since 2008, the image of the “Child-Fetus” appears in his works, it will be a recurring icon in the “Identikit” series of 2009.
The little boy appears to the world and tests his feelings. The painter is acquiring more certainties.
Andrea selects a few elements of the daily routine and inserts them in his great artistic content.
Light bulbs, masks, red hearts and white flowers detach from intense colored backgrounds stimulating the mind of the observer.
Ethnic masks and natural elements bring our mind to places where Man is the protagonist.
Now, Andrea is no more interested in great narratives or philosophic contents. Andrea wants to focus our attention on simple daily facts, which represent our uniqueness.
The image represented on the canvas becomes secondary element. Now, subjects are bearers of meanings and messages.
Andrea expresses himself with a clear, decisive and well-traced graphic.
The represented elements transmit culture and everyday life using comic style and graffiti.
Whether they are small or large works, Andrea’s works express serenity and culture.
