SKIM was born in Florence in 1985 and discovered his passion for art from an early age, fascinated by many from that artistic phenomenon called Graffitism. He graduates from Florence Institute of Art in Advertising Graphics and Photography in 2006 and then chooses to follow his passion for drawing and cartoons at the school International Comics, where he graduated in traditional and modern animation techniques in 2009.
He opens his first art studio in 2008 dealing with painting, illustration, comics, graffiti, design, graphics and live performer. But following Skim’s path is not a simple thing, in fact we are talking about a very eclectic artist, raised between art school and street, who at the at the same time he learns to express himself in all techniques pictorial. Skim reveals a sensitivity in the use of bright and captivating colors to a few, as well as his technique, the perfect combination of old school and innovation, which clearly defines his ironic, caustic and poetic style. With his “Puppets” and his “Kaos” he interprets the stories and the most varied settings: analyzes everyday life and translates it into art, street or studio, surprising the viewer for the contrast between the explosion of color of his works and the never banal message he wants to convey with them. Skim represents a different art, attractive and pleasant to observe, and with its motto “In Color We Trust” is making headway with exhibitions and performance in national and international contexts. Above all, he continues his project of coloring the gray walls of schools and teaching children the art of graffiti, leaving his mark everywhere. To date, more than 20 schools in Italy have asked for his intervention. He collaborates with associations of disabled children and schools where he teaches the art of graffiti. Today Skim lives and works in Florence, collecting numerous solo exhibitions and collective in Italy and abroad.
